Please join us for a very special night in Canberra as indigo foundation celebrates 20 years of community partnerships.

It promises to be a fantastic evening of friendship, music and stories of change from our 17 year long partnership in rural Afghanistan.

We are thrilled to announce that we have

  • Virginia Haussegger AM and Alex Sloan AM, Canberra legends returning to MC the evening. It is guaranteed to be a fantastic night with their humour, warmth and passion.
  • Ali Reza Yunespour as our guest speaker. Ali is a former refugee and the current Partnership Coordinator for Afghan schools program. For 17 years we have worked with representatives from the refugee community in Australia to rebuild schools, train teachers and improve education in the Borjegai and Jirghai regions in Afghanistan. Despite the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan, this unique partnership has made incredible gains - more students are completing school and getting into university and more girls are able to enter the classroom and unleash their potential. Join us on the night to meet Ali, celebrate what the community has achieved and hear stories of hope and resilience.
  • Music by the Gypsy Jazz Project, a Canberra-based quartet playing 1930s Parisian “hot club” jazz. Their string swing jazz will bring a smile to your dial and get your hands clapping and your feet tapping.

Tickets include a delicious three course feast prepared by Broadbean Catering, fine wine and entertainment. Ample parking is avaialble at the venue.

We look forward to seeing you there!

For registration enquiries please contact info@indigofoundation.org.

NOTE: We had originally announced that our guest speaker would be Guna Vincent from India. Guna is a leading feminist, Dalit rights activist and the founder and Director of our partner in India, Mahalir Sakthi. With the onset of COVID-19, we had to make a difficult decision to postpone Guna's travel from India. In Guna's place, we are thrilled to be able to shine a spotlight on our long-standing schools partnership in Afghanistan.
